Driving Directions:
From the North:
(Auckland) Coming into Taupo on State Highway One, turn right at Poihipi Road (sign-posted Acacia Bay), then turn left into Acacia Bay Rd after 200 meters. You will drive through a new built up suburb called Vaucluse. Follow Acacia Bay Road for about 3km.
Follow the signs to Acacia Bay. You will go through an open road speed limit straight part (100kms/hour) and then pass through an archway saying, 'Welcome to Acacia Bay'.
On your left will be a small group of shops, a plant nursery, a dairy and a little brasserie called 'The Bay'. You are still traveling on Acacia Bay Road.
Follow straight on after these shops ... do not take the left curve where it says Acacia Bay Road, carry on just a little further, the road will now say Wakeman Road and at this junction there will be a road going up the hill on your right, called Mapara Road. (This is the second road on the right after the shops).
Turn up the hill into Mapara Road, continue up to the top of the hill and just over the brow on your left is Gillespie Place. Turn left into Gillespie Place and continue down the road.
You will reach a V, where one road goes to the left and one goes to the right. Take the right road and drive to the end, where you will see our sign.
From the South:
(Wellington) Entering Taupo on State Highway One, continue along Lake Terrace for about 5km. The road turns to the right, away from the lake front.
Continue through the traffic lights and carry on past Woolworths Supermarket on your right at the Spa Road roundabout (go straight through the roundabout), cross over the control gate bridge and almost immediately turn left onto Norman Smith Street.
When you get to the end of this road turn left down Acacia Bay Rd. Follow Acacia Bay Road for about 3km. Follow the signs to Acacia Bay.
